Bepannaah Review Jennifer Winget’s new show breaks stereotypes with its unique story
The show comes as a breath of fresh air and attempts at a new story filled with mystery and romance. It centers around the theme of love, lust, and infidelity, something that Indian television show makers usually refrain from venturing into.
The show has neatly contrasted characters. On one hand, we have Zoya. (Jennifer Winget) and her blind faith in love, which has no space for doubt or suspicion.
Bepannaah: Jennifer Winget, Harshad Chopda, Sehban Azim, Namita Dubey party together as the show goes on air. Actress Jennifer Winget, whose debut Bollywood film as an adult didn’t have a smooth release, says acting is important to her irrespective of the medium.
As a child, Winget featured in films such as Akele Hum Akele Tum and Kuch Naa Kaho. After starring in TV shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kahin To Hoga and Dill Mill Gayye, she was set to re-enter Bollywood with Kunal Kohli’s Phir Se in 2015 but due to copyright issues, the film’s release date kept getting pushed. It finally released on a digital platform earlier this year.
She is now looking forward to her Colors show Bepannaah. It is said that the show is inspired by Rajesh Khanna’s film Kati Patang. However The actress also said the show’s not inspired from the famous Bollywood film ‘Kati Patang’
t’s not every day that a show like Beyhadh is made, and a character like Maya is written for Indian TV, and get an actor like Jennifer Winget who does a complete justice to it. In Maya, Jennifer got one of the most challenging characters of her career.
Even more challenging for Jennifer though will be now to deliver a convincing performance as Zoya–a complete opposite of Maya in Bepannaah–in Bepannaah set to premiere tonight at 9 pm on Colors.
