Reasons Someone May Keep Relapsing Back Into Depression

Reasons someone may keep relapsing back into Depression

πŸ‘‰  They are in a toxic environment that continues to neglect their needs ( or even violates them) For example, their need for control, for society, or purpose.

πŸ‘‰  They have excessive responsibilities that leave them vulnerable to burnout and worsened mental health. For example, being “the carer” for others at the expense of yourself, overthinking etc.

πŸ‘‰  They have learned to cope with the triggers of depression but haven’t healed from the underlying contributing factors. For example, a past trauma

πŸ‘‰  They don’t have a “diversified” treatment plan. For example, solely relying on medication without implementing cognitive strategies to challenge negative thoughts, behavioral strategies to resolve toxic environment, or deep work to heal one’s “inner child”

πŸ‘‰  Depression is a complex mental illness with many contributing factors. Please understand this.
