Reasons someone may keep relapsing back into Depression
π They are in a toxic environment that continues to neglect their needs ( or even violates them) For example, their need for control, for society, or purpose.
π They have excessive responsibilities that leave them vulnerable to burnout and worsened mental health. For example, being “the carer” for others at the expense of yourself, overthinking etc.
π They have learned to cope with the triggers of depression but haven’t healed from the underlying contributing factors. For example, a past trauma
π They don’t have a “diversified” treatment plan. For example, solely relying on medication without implementing cognitive strategies to challenge negative thoughts, behavioral strategies to resolve toxic environment, or deep work to heal one’s “inner child”
π Depression is a complex mental illness with many contributing factors. Please understand this.
