What is Vagus Nerve

fundamental part of the autonomic nervous system, which is composed of two key branches 👉parasympathetic (rest, relax, digest) and the sympathetic (the branch responsible for our stress response).

The Vagus Nerve plays a huge role in the “Gut-Brain” connection since it is a major regulator of the parasympathetic nervous system.

Research shows that the strength of your Vagus Nerve (aka Vagal Tone) could be directly connected to you immune system and healthy emotional regulation.

Low Vagal Tone is associated with Depression, Poor Emotional Health, and inflammation

The vagus nerve is the parasympathetic nervous system’s primary nerve.

Poor mental health such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and insomnia are symptoms of a dysregulated nervous system.

These are all symptoms of poor vagus nerve function, which are often a result of environmental factors such as stressful situations and trauma.

What Am I Touching?

What is Self Awareness?

In order to be powerful, we need our senses to be working at their fullest potential.

Awareness of self is crucial because it enables us to recognize who we are and to spot any unhelpful patterns we may have developed.

Self Awareness is the starting point of any change.

In order to observe and be aware of ourselves, we need to ask ourselves questions related to our senses, thoughts and feelings.

Exercise 1: Self Awareness

At some point during the day or night, take time to ask yourself the following questions:

1) What am I seeing?
2) What am I hearing?
3) What am I smelling?
4) What am I tasting?
5) What am I touching?
And subsequently:
6) What am I thinking?
7) What am I feeling?7

Questions 6 and 7 are extremely important because, as we will learn, thought
accompanied by feeling is the key element of reality creation.
